Italy is the country in the world with the highest coronavirus mortality every 100 thousand inhabitants. This is what the data of Johns Hopkins University reveal, which constantly monitors the progress of the pandemic. With 111.23 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants, Italy in the ranking of the 20 countries most affected by Covid-19 precedes Spain (104.39), the United Kingdom (99.49) and the United States (94.97). Our country is instead third in the ranking which takes into account the relationship between confirmed cases and deaths. Italy has a ratio of 3.5%, behind Mexico (9%) and Iran (4.7%) and ahead of the United Kingdom (3.4%). In absolute terms, with 67,894 deaths, according to JHU data, Italy is the fifth most affected country in the world, behind the United States (311,529 deaths), Brazil (184,827), India (144,789) and Mexico (116,487) and ahead of the United Kingdom (66,639).
