Hospital in New York celebrates its cured Covid-19 patients


New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital celebrates the discharge of recovered coronavirus patients with a rock classic.

In a video that the American morning show „Good Morning America“ shared, hospital employees can be seen cheerfully discharging two patients from the hospital. “Don’t Stop Believin ‘” by Journey is running in the background.

“Every discharge of recovered patients gives us hope to continue,” said hospital director Jacyln Mucaria to GMA.

The employees of a New York hospital are trying to remain optimistic and create a good mood despite the current corona pandemic. For a week now, the employees of the New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital have been celebrating every patient who is discharged with the famous Journey rock song “Don’t Stop Believin”. That reported the American morning show “Good Morning America”.

The video shows the nursing staff cheering as they escort two recovered patients out in wheelchairs. On top of that everyone rocks off to the Journey hit.

“Every patient discharge gives hope to the staff at the New York Presbyterian Queens. They are encouraged to see their patients recover and go home, “said Jaclyn Mucaria, president of New York-Presbyterian Queens, according to the GMA.

“These were very challenging times, but I am so proud of the extraordinary selflessness and teamwork. Everyone lends a hand to offer our patients the best possible care ”.

There are currently more Covid-19 patients in the United States than in any other country in the world. Especially the city of New York is according to the latest data from John Hopkins University, as the focus of the pandemic.

Almost 56,000 Covid-19 patients (as of April 20, 2020) have now been hospitalized in New York State. Many of them are stationed in the largest hospital in New York City, New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital.

The hospital’s video has since gone viral. And so even actor Matt Damon thanks the “New York Heroes” for their commitment. The hospital was delighted and reposted the actor’s thanks on their Facebook page.
