In several federal states, animal experiments have long been banned during studies. Now Baden-Württemberg is finally following suit.
Stuttgart – Many federal states in Germany already have a law that Animal testing prohibited in academic training. Baden-Wuerttemberg has not yet positioned itself on this topic. That is changing now: The state parliament in Stuttgart has a draft law from the research minister Theresia Bauer (Greens) agreed, according to which animals should be largely dispensed with in teaching. As far as there are alternatives, such attempts will be taboo from 2021.
Animal testing play a major role in the southwest. Courses with Animal testing and so-called animal consumption are in at universities Baden-Wuerttemberg Among other things, part of biology, human and veterinary medicine or in agricultural science courses.
