The Rennes academy will keep identical teaching resources for the first and second public levels at the start of the 2021 school year. This is reflected in the distribution announced by the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports, says the academy in a press release, here is the details:
“In the 1st public degree
The maintenance of the resources allocated was decided despite a decrease of 2,600 students throughout the academy, which will de facto lead to a better rate of supervision in each of the departments. The objective here is to concentrate efforts on learning fundamental knowledge (reading, writing, counting).
Another axis of development: the pursuit of duplication which will also concern the Grande Section classes in the reinforced priority education network. For the Grande Section classes, located outside the REP +, the objective is to tend towards a maximum number of 24 students per class.
Finally, no school closure in rural areas will be possible without the agreement of the mayors.
In the public second degree
Educational resources are maintained. The objective of this new school year will be in particular to continue the implementation of the reform of the lycée and that of the vocational path.
As a reminder, the Rennes academy has 14,129 full-time equivalent teaching positions in the second degree and 10,838 in the first degree. ”
