Alex Cora he hopes that JD Martínez will go back to being the one he was before. And the Red Sox manager is confident Andrew Benintendi and Eduardo Rodríguez will have similar rallies in 2021.
In a telephone press conference, Cora predicted an improvement on the part of some Boston players who had a gray 2020. The manager, who was left out of the team by the signal theft scandal that he starred in the Houston Astros, was only a spectator as the Red Sox sank to last place.

The campaign was so bad that it opened the door for the manager’s return.
“I do not like betting, but I bet a dollar that JD will have a better season,” said the Puerto Rican pilot. “I’m watching a lot of games and videos. He was a different hitter … And I know he recognized at the end of the season what was wrong. However, he couldn’t find a way to fix it in the batter’s box.”
Martinez finished fourth in the voting for the AL Most Valuable Player Award in 2018, when he hit 43 home runs and led the Young Circuit with 130 RBIs. He helped the Red Sox set a franchise record of 108 wins in the regular season before winning the World Series.
