Justin Timberlake stars in Powerful First Trailer Palmer, an upcoming drama film slated for release on Apple TV + on January 29, 2021.
Directed by Estate actor Fisher Stevens, the film follows former high school football star Eddie Palmer, who returns to his hometown of Louisiana after spending 12 years in a state penitentiary. He returns there with his grandmother Vivian, who raised him, and gets a job as a janitor.
“You just have to go back,” Vivian reassures Palmer in the teaser.
“A lot of things have changed,” he adds solemnly later.

Haunted by memories of his life before prison, things get complicated for Palmer when his funny neighbor Shelly goes missing on a trip, and he and Vivian are tasked with looking after his 7-year-old son Sam. .
But just as the unlikely tandem begins to draw closer, Sam’s mother reappears, threatening not only Palmer’s relationship with Sam, but his newfound freedom as he takes the young man’s well-being into his own hands.
“I can’t give up on this boy,” he says, as he is taken to the police station in the trailer.
Alisha Wainwright (Shadowhunters) will also appear in the film as Maggie, Sam’s sweet-tempered teacher, with whom Palmer forms a romantic relationship, while Juno Temple (Ted Lasso), actress June Squibb and newcomer. Ryder Allen rounds out the cast.
Palmer’s release on Apple TV + is scheduled for January 29, 2021.
