The multigenerational house in Hafurt is a finalist for the German Kita Award 2021 in the category “Local Alliance for Early Education of the Year”.

The multigenerational house in Hafurt offers the families of the city of Hafurt and the district of Haberge an extensive range of advice, information and support. In various formats such as the baby and toddler meeting or the “open nursing meeting”, families come together and can exchange ideas. In addition, an expert network was set up. Entrepreneurs from the region are involved in an interdisciplinary team, including a pediatrician, a speech therapist, a gynecologist, a midwife, an occupational therapist, a rector and many other volunteers. They take on family questions and look for quick and workable solutions. As a result, the multigenerational house succeeds in putting together an overall package for early childhood education, in designing educational transitions together and in focusing on the needs relating to child development within the social space.
The multi-generational house in Hafurt is one of ten finalists in the competition (out of 1200 applications originally). If Hafurt is successful, it can count on a reward: five initiatives receive prize money of 25,000 or 10,000 euros. The decision will be made in 2021. In the
Experts from the German Children and Youth Foundation and the
Berlin University of Applied Education (HSAP) get to know the Hafurter Alliance even better. Due to the current situation, the selection step is purely digital.
The experts conduct interviews with the alliance members to get an impression of the work on site. The discussions with those involved are supplemented by a digital workshop from which the alliance members should take away suggestions for further cooperation. red
