Fresno, CA- Centro la Familia, in the city of Fresno, opens a new temporary help program for people who are behind with the payment of their rents or mortgages.

The program called Home Retention, will benefit people who due to the pandemic saw their economic income affected. This includes people who have lost their jobs, had their working hours reduced, or their health was affected by Covid-19.

Families can receive up to $ 4,500 if they live in the city of Fresno or $ 3,000 if they live within the county of the same name.

Residents of the city of Fresno will be able to use these funds to cover rent or delinquent mortgage, as well as expenses such as electricity, gas, internet and telephone. The program does not include payment for city water or garbage. If you are a Fresno County resident, you can only use financial aid to cover rent or mortgage costs.

To qualify, you must prove loss of income (for example a letter from your employer) due to the pandemic and live in the county or city of Fresno. Also, you should have a copy of the rental agreement or mortgage statement on hand. You must also have a photo ID and the most recent tax return.
