The popular DOCMA cut-outPanel was transferred from Picture Instruments to the new UXP plug-in interface. This not only makes it faster and more responsive, but also future-proof.
DOCMA cut-out panel: Old (CEP)
The earlier “CEP panels” will sooner or later no longer be supported by Photoshop. Because they are (or were) very resource-hungry. Photoshop can slow down noticeably, especially when using several such panels.
DOCMA cut-out panel: New (UXP)
The new UXP plug-ins do not have this problem. They load quickly and react reliably and quickly to mouse clicks. In Photoshop 2021 you will find UXP extensions and panels – now called plug-ins by Adobe – under the new menu item “Plug-ins”.
Since autumn 2020 there has been a marketplace in the Creative Cloud desktop app, via which the new UXP plugins are managed and installed. The new licenses are then no longer over https://picture-instruments.com/home/ managed, but directly through Adobe. You can find the “DOCMA cut-out” panel via this link.
Owners of a “DOCMA cut-out” license have already received an email from Picture Instruments with a voucher code with which they can install the new UXP version free of charge. ATTENTION: The transmitted voucher code is only valid until Christmas!
You can still use the panel in the UXP version via the DOCMA-Shop acquire. The installation then takes place via the Adobe Marketplace.
The development and optimization of the clipping panel continues, of course. And UXP may enable things that could not be done before. It remains exciting. ????
