Today we talk about protests and clashes. In India peasants’ protests against the agricultural reform are mounting, which threatens to put small farmers (whose number has greatly increased due to the pandemic) in the hands of the agro-industry. In Iraqi Kurdistan, the protests are due to the collapse of the price of oil that has “broken” the public finances and makes it difficult to pay government employees. In Belarus, Lukashenko’s popularity plummeted after the political crisis was joined by the economic crisis due to Western sanctions and the pandemic. Economy, health, environment, geopolitics: if everything is finely interconnected, it is necessary to make decisions that always take into account the whole system.
