Due to the fact that the spread of COVID-19 has hardly slowed down, Austrians will receive travel warnings for almost all countries in the world from Saturday. According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, the only exceptions are Australia, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, Uruguay and the Vatican. The travel warnings therefore apply to all tourist and other unnecessary trips, including family visits.
Business trips, commuters and professional groups who work across borders are exempt from the provisions.

From 00:00 on Saturday, all people entering Austria must immediately commence a ten-day quarantine. This does not apply to travelers from the 10 states mentioned. The quarantine can be ended earlier with a negative PCR or antigen test, which is possible on the fifth day at the earliest.
