It is time for Arsenal to make a change.
This is according to Simon the Gooner, who telephoned talkSPORT’s Sports Bar on Wednesday night to call for Mikel Arteta to be fired and to name his ideal managerial replacement.
Simon’s call came just hours after Arsenal’s winless streak was extended as they managed only a draw at home with Southampton, struggling with a goal down after former player Theo Walcott scored for the Saints.

Arteta’s team had a slightly improved performance against the Saints, but they are still waiting for their next win.
The Gunners are 15th in the Premier League table, just five points above the bottom three and without a top flight win since winning at Manchester United on November 1.
The calls for Arteta to leave are getting louder and more frequent with each passing match, and Simon the Gooner has been ‘#ArtetaOut’ for quite some time; in fact, he called the Spaniard a ‘fraud’ on talkSPORT just days after that Red Devils defeat last month!
And Simon refuses to back down on his opinion that Arteta has to go, preferably as soon as possible.
“Oh, absolutely,” Simon replied when asked by Sports Bar host Andy Goldstein if he wanted Arteta to come out.
Jason Cundy describes Arsenal’s season as “nothing short of a disaster” and believes Arteta and company are in a relegation battle.
But who do you want to become Arsenal’s new manager?
“Rafa Benítez would keep us in the league,” he added. “Of course it’s about survival! Look where we are in the league!
If you said take 17, I’d bite your hand off right now.
However, Goldstein was unconvinced by Simon’s relegation fears, despite his co-host Jason Cundy believing that falling is a possibility, despite saying that Arsenal will “probably” not make it out of the Premier League.
Benítez is currently the coach of the CSL Dalian Professional club. Is it time for Arsenal to tempt you back to England?
“That’s crazy … they’re not going to fall,” Andy said. “There is no ‘probably’ about it, Arsenal NO be going down!
“They can see the edge of the cliff and they are not close to it. They will not fall.
