After eight seasons defending the PSG shirt and after becoming runner-up in the Champions League, Thiago Silva headed for Chelsea. Before the pandemic, the French club informed the experienced center-back that it did not have him for the future, however, after reaching the final, they wanted to retain him.
The 36-year-old Brazilian assures that Leonardo, sports director of the Parisian team, called him desperate to discuss his renewal.
“Leonardo called me, told me that I was not part of the project and that I could go. After the Champions League final, he called me and asked me if I had signed with another club. I said no, but that I had given Chelsea the floor, “said Thiago Silva on Canal Football Club.
The player admitted that he did not understand how the club changed its decision. “You can’t change your mind like that and I think they did it after the Champions League final because I showed my quality.”
“What saddens me is that I was there for eight years and I was judged for the last three games. Everything I did before didn’t matter. It’s sad for me to make a decision like that, but it’s football.
