KENDAL – The Kendal Regency Government (Pemkab) will receive a large amount of PPE and hands-on aid from the Singapore Government. The assistance for the prevention of Covid-19 in Kendal Regency is planned to be stored at the Bahurekso Kendal Sports Hall, which will then be distributed to the public so that it can break the chain of spreading Covid-19. “Namely masks, the number is around 600 thousand and 180 thousand liters of hand sanitizer. The storage place is at GOR Bahurekso Kendal. Currently, a vidcon is being prepared between the Kendal Regent and the Singaporean Ambassador. We are still communicating, “said the Head of the Kendal Health Office, Ferinando RAD Bonay, to Radar Pekalongan, Wednesday (16/12/2020).
Ferinando said the corona virus spreads mainly among people who are in close contact or in close contact for a long time. In other words, the coronavirus can be transmitted when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, and droplets from their mouth or nose are launched into the air and land on the mouths or noses of people nearby. “Without realizing it, when we are talking with other people and accidentally take off our masks, even if it’s just a little, it has the potential to transmit the virus,” he said.
Ferinando asked the public not to underestimate Covid-19 and continue to implement health protocols. Not only that, people should always maintain stamina by eating nutritious foods, consuming vitamins, maintaining personal hygiene and the surrounding environment. “Avoid activities that gather a lot of people, such as celebrations and other social activities. At least until this pandemic ends. Because currently, almost all places and activities have the potential to become a cluster for the spread of Covid-19, “he explained.
Kendal Regional Secretary, Moh Toha also confirmed that this assistance would be provided. So far, the relationship between the local government and the Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK) has been able to play a positive role. So that the high number of Corona cases in Kendal Regency has received attention from the Singapore Government. “The assistance will later be given through the embassy of that country. Namely 600 thousand masks and 180 thousand liters of hand sanitizers. We have prepared administrative documents to get this assistance through the Singapore embassy, ”he said.
Moh Toha stated, to reduce the number of Covid-19 spreads, the Kendal Regency Government continues to aggressively carry out socialization and enforce rules to the community. “The hope is that the community will share awareness of overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic which has not ended,” he said.
