After 9 months with the tracks closed, the quartet played again in Córdoba with an audience in front of the stage. It was on Saturday in Río Cuarto, and Banda XXI was the group that managed to make the first show with “social bubbles” in our province.
The presentation was a pilot test that was successful and for the sector it was “the key” to see how it will work from now on in the context of a pandemic.
This experience raised hope in the tallow of the San Francisco Volunteer Firefighters Society, which looks forward to welcoming the public back to “El Gigante” on Garibaldi street, with a popular dance, although they know that the place will be barely 11% of its original capacity.
The board of directors of the local institution has already begun to work to define the first steps to underpin the return of these shows as soon as possible, which represent between 60 and 75% of the total monthly income of the entity.
Up to 500 people
Before the coronavirus arrived, on each dance night the Firefighters hall filled the capacity of 4,500 people while now, according to what is estimated to be established by the protocol prepared by the Emergency Operations Center (COE), the allowed capacity would reach 500 people, which will imply a sharp drop in revenue through entry.
Meanwhile, the Fire Department authorities are already working on the design of a grid that initially includes 6 bands, among which would be the most convincing of the quartet genre.
As for the reopening date, authorization through the COE, it is estimated that it could be in mid-January.
In addition, it remains to determine what will be the schedule for holding this type of event, which will depend on the municipality.
The shows would include “corralitos” made with fences, some with capacity for 10 people (two tables of 5) and others for 8 (two tables of four), if the Rio Cuartense modality is imitated.
The president of the board of directors of the Volunteer Firefighters Society, Rodrigo Franceschi, admitted feeling “a little more excited than before” since “we are seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel,” he told THE VOICE OF SAN JUSTO.
Although he made it clear that “there is still nothing concrete,” he recalled that last days there was an important meeting in the capital of the province in which artistic producers participated who are waiting for the official word of the Government of Juan Schiaretti.
“The return to the dances is a little closer,” said Franceschi and avoided giving a specific date for the return: “If this pandemic taught us something, it is that we do not have to talk about times.”
Prepared
Throughout this waiting time, those responsible for the entity were generating various alternatives to apply around possible health security protocols that allow a safe return of people to this type of shows.
“We have many issues ready to start up, the only thing missing is that they give us the authorization to get to work,” said Franceschi.
When asked about which band will be the first to take the stage, he said that “we are analyzing between five and six possibilities”, but this “It will depend on how and when the return will be.”
Franceschi: “I am hopeful that the return of the quartet to the Giant can take place in mid-January.”
Bubbles, the new quartet normality
The show that Banda XXI offered in Río Cuarto allowed the implementation of the bubbles, a space established between 9 and 12 square meters within which a maximum of 10 people was located.
In the event that the same normality for music shows is adopted in San Francisco, Franceschi acknowledged that “the capacity is going to be markedly reduced.”
Taking into account the dimensions of the fire department, the president of the directive committee estimated that each dance could be appreciated by “about 500 people”.
“It is not so easy to organize a dance with these characteristics,” he acknowledged and recalled that Volunteer Firefighters “is an institution supported by an entire city and each decision must be thought through and executed in the best possible way.”
The drastic reduction in the number of people attending the dance radically changes the equation that makes up the cost of the show and the value of the ticket. For this reason, the interviewee announced that the cachet to pay the gangs “will be discussed”. “I do not think there is any problem to agree, because all the groups are realistic and know that the numbers are different and you have to adapt to this new reality.”
Another of the possible changes to be implemented within the dances would be related to the need to incorporate waiters to bring drinks to the tables in such a way that that person does not get up from the “bubble” they occupy. An alternative to this would be that only one person in the group can leave the assigned area towards the canteen to look for drinks.
“We are going to work night and day to be in tune with what they ask of us and come back as soon as possible,” Franceschi concluded.
Between this Friday and next Monday, the document with the details of the return protocol for the quartet dances and face-to-face recitals in the province of Córdoba would be finalized. Meanwhile, some modifications were known that it will include, in addition to allowing its realization under the modality of “social bubbles”:
-The amount of public would be limited to a percentage of capacity according to the square meters of the place, not being able to exceed 1500 people in any case.
– No limit on the number of musicians on stage, which would allow bands to work with all their usual staff.
