On February 26, 2021, the Legacy Recordings label will put into circulation «That’s Life», the veteran’s new album Willie Nelson. It is the second work that Nelson dedicates to the songbook popularized by Ol‘ Blue Eyes after 2018’s “My Way”, an album that earned Willie the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Solo Album.
In «That’s Life» Nelson eleven well-known songs he has come to call Great American Songbook, including the subject title, «Luck Be A Lady», «Nice Work If You Can Get It», «I’ve Got You Under My Skin», «You Make Me Feel So Young» and «I Won’t Dance» (a duet with Diana Krall) among others.
Produced by Buddy Cannon and Matt Rollings, “That’s Life” was recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood – the place where Frank Sinatra recorded some of his masterpieces from the album – with an additional recording at Pedernales Studios in Austin, Texas. The album cover features a new painting of Willie and his iconic guitar, Trigger, standing in the glow of a twilight lantern, evoking the classic Sinatra album covers.
The album, which is already available in pre-order, will have a special edition on marbled blue vinyl, in homage to Frank Sinatra’s eye color, although it will only be available through the Barnes & Nobles chain.
