“Pay back the current debt” fined for a couple in their 70s who went to the singer Rain

According to the court on the 16th, Chief Judge Yoo Chang-hoon, who was solely responsible for criminal 7 of the Seoul Western District Law, responded to Mr. A (79) and Mr. B (73), who were charged with violating the law on punishment such as violence (damage of communal property, invasion of common housing). He was fined 700,000 won.

In February, Mr. A and his wife visited the home where Rain and his father, Jeong Mo, lived and yelled at “pay me for the rice” for not meeting them or were accused of hitting the door several times. It turned out that they eventually broke the door opener worth 200,000 won, forcibly opened the door, and entered the door entrance and the yard without permission.

In 2018, they posted an article on the online community saying that they are “prosecuting singer Rain’s parents”. The article said that Rain’s father, Jeong, ran a rice cake restaurant with his wife in a market in Yongsan-gu, Seoul 20 years ago, and did not pay back after borrowing 25 million won worth of money from a rice shop run by their parents.

Mr. A filed a fifty million won civil lawsuit against Jeong in September of last year, but lost in January of this year. Rain filed for a temporary injunction against Mrs. A in February of this year, and the court cited it in April of the same year.

The judge said, “The victim has suffered considerable mental suffering, but does not want to be punished, and takes into account the life cycles of both sides and the current situation of elderly people, who have lived through document exchanges in difficult times long ago.”
