Moon eclipse penumbra is an event when the Moon enters the shadow of the Earth’s penumbra. This condition causes the Moon to be visible in dim light.

This event is one of the consequences during the full moon phase, which can be predicted in advance.

On June 21, 2020, parts of Indonesia can witness the celestial phenomenon in the form of solar eclipse ring.

The eclipse occurs when the disc of the Moon appears smaller than the disc of the Sun.

This results in the end of the dark shadow (umbra) of the Moon not falling on the surface of the Earth, thus forming an extension of the Moon’s shadow called the antumbra.

The area affected by the antumbra will experience a ring solar eclipse. This phenomenon is different from the previous year, because it coincides with the summer solstice, which is called the Solstice Ring of Fire.
