A team led by M&A lawyer Hermann Knott, currently a partner at Andersen, will join Kunz Rechtsanwälte’s Cologne office at the turn of the year.

Hermann Knott
Dr. Hermann Knott has been a lawyer since 1989, initially working for Cleary Gottlieb in New York. Back in Germany, he worked for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for two years, then he was one of the founders of Luther and its predecessor, Andersen Legal, where he worked for a total of 25 years. In 2017 he moved – again as a founding partner – to Andersen in Germany, the German member law firm of Andersen Global. Now Knott and his team join the law firm Kunz Rechtsanwälte at the turn of the year.
“International transactions are playing an increasingly important role for Kunz Rechtsanwälte”, says the firm’s partner in Koblenz, Dominic Steinborn. From his many years of experience in the Andersen environment, Knott has gained the experience of integrating legal, tax and financial advice. In addition, his industry expertise “fits in perfectly with our setup,” said Steinborn.
Knott primarily advises on national and international M&A transactions and specializes in acquisitions of industrial and financial investors, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. He also acts as a party representative in international arbitration proceedings. His industry focus is in the areas of logistics, services and manufacturing.
