Central Government skips winter session

NEW DELHI: The Central government has skipped the winter session of Parliament in the wake of the farmers’ strike. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said all political parties were in favor of skipping the conference. The minister said the move was to avoid the expansion of Kovid and the budget session would convene in January.

Joshi said this in a letter to Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary had written a letter asking that a special meeting be convened to discuss the controversial agricultural laws. In response, the government announced that it had skipped the winter session. Prahlad Joshi said he had held discussions with leaders of all parties.
