The Angoulême Grand Prix will also be unveiled at the end of June, at the same time as the general public event with the dedications under the “bubbles” of the festival. The Grand Prix is usually the president of the festival the following year. It will therefore be, from June 24 to 27, to allow international authors, forming the college of voters, to be able to attend the presentation of the Grand Prix, at a time more favorable to travel.
The prize list, meanwhile, is maintained in January, on the occasion of the inaugural evening of the festival: with the Fauve d’or, prize for the best album (in a selection of 75 albums this year), and five other prizes (special jury prize, revelation, alternative comic book, series, audacity. The jury will be chaired by designer Emmanuel Guibert, winner of the 2020 Grand Prix. An exhibition will also be dedicated to him, from January to June 2021.
In the main selection, we find Anaïs Nin, a biography of novelist Léonie Bischoff (Casterman), Rusty Town by the American Chris Ware (Delcourt), or an adaptation of Yuval Noah Harari’s bestseller by David Vandermeulen and Daniel Casanave, Sapiens, volume 1: the birth of humanity.
