In Grödig (Flachgau) the fire brigade was called to a fire on Monday morning. A woodshed – attached to a house – had started to burn. Alarm level 3 was declared because of the heavy smoke development.

A total of four fire brigades – from Grödig, Fürstenbrunn, Anif and Niederalm (all Flachgau) – were in action. The fire had already spread to the house to which the shed is attached. The wall of the house is badly charred, a window shattered. Not only because of this, but also because of the heavy smoke development, a major alarm was triggered, says operations manager Karl Schnöll-Reichl.
“When we arrived, the annex was already in full fire, the smoke and the flames forced it into the house. The gable of the house was already on fire and it was easy to react quickly, ”said Schnöll-Reichl.

Fire extinguished quickly
The fire was quickly extinguished by a total of 75 emergency services, but the fire fighters still had to check the building closely for possible embers. Nobody was injured in the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
