During the night of Saturday 12 to Sunday 13 December, around 2 am, residents reported to “17” the presence of a party in rue des Frères-Eberts, district of the Plaine des Bouchers, in Strasbourg, despite the sanitary measures in force. On the spot, the police noted the presence of a hundred people gathered in the premises of a company during an alcoholic evening.
At the sight of the officials, most of them took to the skies. The organizer of the celebrations was nevertheless arrested. Aged 33, he admitted to being at the initiative of the event, organized in the professional premises of his mother, without her consent.
Appeal launched on Snapchat
When questioned, he explained that he made a call via the Snapchat network and was quickly overwhelmed by the number of guests, not thinking that the evening would be as successful. The thirty-something was fined for non-compliance with confinement, like two other participants. Proceedings were also opened against him for endangering others.
Last weekend, the police had already ended an illicit evening. About forty people gathered in an apartment in Petite-France in Strasbourg. The party ended with around thirty verbalizations and lawsuits launched against the four co-organizers.
The departmental direction of public security of Bas-Rhin recalls that it will not show any indulgence in the event of failure to respect the instructions. Especially since illicit gatherings of this type constitute real potential clusters with damaging consequences.
