Trade. “Preserving the soul of Christmas with a solidarity market”

In the heart of the Cour du Mersch, the spirit of Christmas seems to have taken up its winter quarters at Les Moulins Bleues. On the window, garlands and decorations dress the space. Inside, there are no customers seated at the tables, but on the tables, sausages, teddy bears, gingerbread and other clothing are visible. The passer-by is not facing a closed restaurant but rather facing a real holiday chalet. And for good reason, on the door, a poster sets the tone: “Solidarity Christmas market”.

Bruno Clément, manager of the Thionville brand, does not hide his enthusiasm: “I had this idea because I love Christmas. There is a soul in this celebration that must absolutely be preserved! », He launches before unfolding his whole concept. “I contacted traders who also share this spirit to organize a joint sale in our premises and improve their visibility. “

Twenty traders at the table

Placed prominently on the tables, products from different shops in Thionville. Small inserts indicate the origin of each: Chez David, Mary Home, Myosotis, Cat Herpeux to name a few.

In all, about twenty stalls have decided to play along and offer their products and, to see Bruno Clément enumerate the sales, the business seems rather well underway. “At the moment, the restaurant cannot receive customers. It remains open for take-out meals from noon to 2 pm and from 6 to 9:30 pm So the rest of the time, you might as well help out by organizing a joint sale. In terms of schedules, it’s simple: 8 am – 9:30 pm. From the 15th, it will be 8 pm. ”
