sport">The box with the star of the World Cup in 1982 was carried to the local cathedral by teammates of the Italian team with which Rossi won the World Cup at the time. They included Marco Tardelli, Antonio Cabrini, Giancarlo Antognoni, Alessandro Altobelli, Franco Causio, Fulvio Collovati and Giuseppe Bergomi. The ceremony was broadcast live by the RAI broadcaster.
