Director Kim Ki-deok died of complications from Corona 19 at a hospital in Latvia at the dawn of yesterday.
Director Kim, who arrived in Latvia on the 20th of last month, has not been contacted since the 5th.
It is said that he had been in Latvia since last month after passing through Russia and Estonia, and was preparing to make a film with the Estonian Film Promotion Committee.
Director Kim is the only director in Korea to receive the awards at the Venice, Berlin and Cannes film festivals, the world’s three major film festivals.
However, major organizations and affiliates in the film industry have not responded to the official memorial response to Kim’s death.
