According to the safety region, the fire broke out around 2:30 am. The fire brigade was present en masse and received help from several colleagues from surrounding places. The signal was given fire master at around 4.30 am.
Due to the heavy smoke development, an NL-Alert was sent out, urging people to close windows and doors. The residents of Leiden also received the message. “That was not the intention,” says the spokesman for the security region.
There were no injuries. An employee of Connexxion was checked by ambulance personnel because he had inhaled smoke, reports the Haarlems Dagblad.
Connexxion has announced that the fire is not expected to affect the timetable.
