WWE Friday Night SmackDown # 1112 Results & Report from St. Petersburg, Florida, USA from December 11th, 2020 (incl. Videos & voting)

WWE Friday Night SmackDown #1112
Ort: Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida
First aired on December 11, 2020

Welcome to SmackDown’s ThunderDome! For the first time we are in Tropicana Field, Michael Cole greets us. Then it’s “Boss Time”! Our champion walks into the ring to sign the contract, while Cole and his commentator partner Corey Graves discuss the match card at TLC.

Adam Pearce leads the segment in the ring. When Pearce is about to announce Carmella, Banks discovers that the folder Pearce handed her is empty. Carmella is backstage with the contract in her hand and says she makes the rules and Banks has to follow them. She has a henchman backstage whom she sends to Sasha Banks with the signed contract. The two exchange a few niceties until the contract arrives in the ring and Adam Pearce is handed over. Banks continues to provoke Carmella that she should get the title in the ring today until she agrees to a title match tonight, which Pearce immediately makes official. Banks then quickly beats up Carmella’s errand boy (after she signed the contract with her boss stamp) and throws the table at him. She holds up her title while Carmella can be seen laughing on the screen.

Kayla Braxton is backstage with the Street Profits. Montez Ford will meet Dolph Ziggler today. The two make fun of this and Robert Roode a little before they go to the ring. When Ziggler and Roode come to the ring, they make fun of the Tag Team Champions for their part and say that if they get the opportunity they would win the title too.

1. Match
Singles Match
Dolph Ziggler (w / “The Glorious” Robert Roode) won against Montez Ford (w / Angelo Dawkins) via pin after a super kick.
Match time: 10:57

– after almost three minutes Ziggler rolled out of the ring and Dawkins prevented Roodes from attacking. The Street Profits then celebrated in the ring when their music starts and some cups are thrown in a high arc into the ring.
– Roode attacked Dawkins outside the ring, which distracted Ford on the top ring rope. So Ziggler was able to win.

Sami Zayn complains backstage that everyone has their own shirt, just not him, the Intercontinental Champion. Big E, Apollo Crews, Kalisto and Tamina have a white shirt with a stick figure and the name Sami Zayn written on it. Zayn wants to tear the shirt, but fails in the project. He goes to the ring and whines around there, but is then quickly interrupted by Big E.

2. Match
(Non-Title) Singles Match
Sami Zayn won against Big E via count-out.
Match time: 10:50

– Sami Zayn pretended he had badly injured his hand, whereupon the referee prevented Big E from contacting Zayn further. Suddenly he slapped him in the face, causing Big E to run after him. This went on for a long time until Zayn crawled under the ring. He then adjusted the timing of the crawl so that he was at 9 in the ring but Big E was tallied.

Bayley is backstage and wishes Carmella the best of luck in today’s match, because Sasha Banks is the most overrated and paid wrestler in SmackDown history – after Bianca Belair. She makes fun of her a little more when Belair joins them. She lists her achievements in the past until Bayley leaves the scene, exasperated.

Carmella is at the interview. She states that she would make Banks relevant by challenging them for her title. She asks her errand boy, Tommy, to bring champagne to the ring because she’s going to win the title today – and look damn sexy doing it.

A review of the argument between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns is shown. Reigns and Heyman were watching the segment backstage when Jey Uso joins them. They both make sure they are fine when Owen’s music starts.

We see how he goes into the ring. Uso asks Reigns to kill Owens. Reigns agrees. Meanwhile, Owens throws chairs, a table, and a ladder into the ring. He also builds up these objects. Owens approaches Reigns directly and says that he is still not afraid. Because Reigns does not fight himself, he rather uses his family to fight the fights for him. TLC is the most important match in Owen’s career and that’s why he asked some friends to help him against Reigns. He speaks of the objects in the ring. Together with them, he will give everything to be at the top of the ladder again and become Universal Champion.

He doesn’t get much further because Jey attacks him. Reigns likes it a lot, but Owens slowly but surely gains the upper hand and pushes Uso through the table with a pop-up powerbomb. That’s the sign for Reigns coming out with Heyman. He hands Heyman his title, but Heyman says that he is dancing to Owen’s tune and that he should rather make it clear to him who sets the tone here. Reigns lets himself be manipulated by Heyman, who grins very mischievously, and both of them retreat to the backstage area. Owens limps behind them both with a chair.

The whole advertising goes like that, even after the advertising we still see Owens, who meets Braxton and talks to her about the “Head of the Table”. A short time later he attacks him from behind. He then speaks directly to Owen’s family and says that they should bring him to his senses, otherwise he would do that. He gives Owens another one and then says good night to them.

3. Match
Tag Team Match
The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan) won against Billie Kay & “The BOAT” Natalya via Pin from Riott to Kay after the Riott Kick.
Match time: 02:44

We see a video of Otis with a blindfold and Chad Gable exercising. There Gable Otis trains in perceiving things without seeing them. Later both are at Braxton for an interview. Otis is a student at Gables Alpha Academy because Otis has been disappointed with life again and again but keeps getting up. Nakamura and Cesaro poke fun at Gable, the next fight between the four is.

4. Match
Tag Team Match
Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro won against Chad Gable & Otis via pin from Nakamura to Gable after the Kinshasa.
Match time: 03:27

– Otis had everything under control when Gabel instructed him to replace him because he had a plan to handle the active Cesaro. It came as it had to, Cesaro intercepted Gable, swung him around by his legs in the ring, replaced Nakamura, the end.

Gable and Otis are backstage. Gable states that this was a good lesson for Otis. Because he didn’t really want to be substituted, because Otis had won the match and should have quit the job. But now he should have a drink first, he would teach him more valuable lessons later.

“King” Corbin is backstage with his two new henchmen Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake and is about to be interviewed. Corbin states that they have no love story, no family drama, the two have simply pledged their ruthless loyalty. And if Rey Mysterio wants to compete against it, he should do so and bring his son and “red-haired stepson Murphy” with him. But it would cost him more than his eyes.

5. Match
SmackDowns’s Women Championship
Singles Match
Carmella (w / Tommy) won against Sasha Banks via DQ.
Match time: 09:54

– Banks had Carmella in the Banks statement when Tommy distracted the referee with a bottle of champagne and then pulled Sasha out of the ring. Banks then freaked out and chased Tommy before attacking Carmella over the referee’s 5 count in the corner and being disqualified.

After the DQ, Banks took Tommy in the Banks statement before Carmella could turn the tide and beat Banks, including smashing a bottle on her back. Even if Carmella won the match, Banks remains champion. The show goes off air with a “Mellabration”.
