Visiting this Tuesday morning, December 8 in the town of La Grand-Combe, the president of Alès Agglomeration, Christophe Rivenq, accompanied by the mayor, Patrick Malavieille, and a delegation of elected officials from the municipal council was able, after a discovery of the Dinopedia park in Champclauson, to note the progress of the Epide (Establishment for integration into employment) site in the Ribes district, which is expected to open in November 2021.
The twentieth establishment of its kind in France, it will be the second in the Occitanie region after Toulouse and will be able to accommodate 150 young people aged 18 to 25, without diploma or qualification, on a voluntary basis.
During the visit of the 11,059 m² site, its director, Catherine Pech, recalled that the establishment of this new structure will allow the creation of fifty-four jobs, a real opportunity for the city. “ With the abolition of national service, this kind of establishment may be a response to the lack of reference among certain young people “, notes Christophe Rivenq. Uniform, gathering, strict schedules… Future volunteers will certainly be supervised but above all accompanied in their professional project. To accommodate them during the week, the impressive 150-bed boarding school is carefully fitted out by the forty-five workers who take turns on the site, the secrets of which Pierre Voillaume, account manager for the Schenini company, reveals.
Of the ruin of the old Afpa buildings that had to be dismantled, squatted for a long time or even used by firefighters for exercises, only a bad memory remains. Metamorphosed, the place will even house a 670 m² gymnasium, an equipment that will benefit the population. The large volumes of the rooms, very bright, to say the least impressed.
“I am delighted to come and meet people”
Everyone left confident about the realization and the quality of the project, as evidenced by the enthusiasm of the president of the agglomeration on this overview of the municipality. “ It was awesome ! I hadn’t been able to go to Dinopedia this summer, I discovered something that I hadn’t suspected, but above all very interesting projects. I think that’s what it takes for this territory. This is where we realize the importance of an agglomeration. Create synergies. I am delighted to come and meet people, that’s what motivates me, to go out into the field and feel the stakes. This is why I made the choice to leave the post of Managing Director to support Max Roustan and run for the presidency of the Agglo, to move from very formal to people, to human contact. The fruit of my commitment are the people ! “, concludes enthusiastically Christophe Rivenq.
