Dodo, or Luis Ilariu, has been named Best Player in a vote by journalists and fans, with only two of the journalists finishing second to Brazil. Mološ was recognized as the best coach by the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) Coaches Council.
Competitors for the title of the best player of November Dodo were teammate Eduards Tīdenbergs, Jānis Ikaunieks, Tomāšs Šimkovičs (both – RFS) and Abdullahi Alfa from Jūrmala “Spartaka”.
Dodo scored 82 points in the vote, and Tīdenbergs, the closest follower, scored 42 points. Dodo was close to victory already in October, lagging behind “Riga” midfielder Stafan Panic by only one point.
The best Dodo and Mološ of the month will be congratulated with commemorative prizes.
In November, “Liepāja” won three victories in the Super League, once played a draw and once lost. Dodo showed great performance during this time, standing out with eight goals and one effective pass.
The nominees for the best football player of the month are nominated by the LFF Coaches ‘Council and the Latvian Football Association, followed by the votes of Latvian sports journalists and fans on the social networks Facebook and Twitter, while the LFF Coaches’ Council is responsible for determining the best coach.
