Targets banned from vaccination, such as those under the age of 16, will also vote–

CDC announced that it will post a notice on its official website on the 10th (hereinafter, local time) and hold a meeting of the Vaccination Advisory Committee (ACIP), CDC’s advisory body, on the 13th to vote on whether to recommend a Pfizer vaccine.
According to CDC, ACIP will hold a videoconference on the 11th to review Pfizer vaccine data. On the 13th, a vote will be held on whether to officially recommend the use of the vaccine. After passing the ACIP vote, Pfizer’s vaccine will go through the approval process of CDC Director Robert Redfield and receive an official recommendation. From this point on, the actual COVID-19 vaccination becomes possible.
Earlier, the FDA advisory body, the Vaccine and Biological Drugs Advisory Committee (VRBPAC), recommended urgent use of Pfizer’s vaccine. However, even if the FDA accepts the recommendations of the advisory body and approves the urgent use of the vaccine, it can only deliver and distribute the vaccine. This is because, according to the current regulations, it is necessary to decide on recommendations through a vote of the CDC advisory body in order to actually receive vaccination.
On the other hand, ACIP also decided to decide on the target of’banning vaccination’ in a vote on the 13th. Earlier, the FDA’s advisory body said that the safety and effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine had not been tested in some groups, including those under the age of 16, pregnant women, lactating women, and people with compromised immune systems.
