“His portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic (…) That’s why we won’t be reassigning the role,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in a presentation to investors from the Disney group.
The sequel to “Black Panther” will still take its course with “the rich and diverse characters that were introduced in the first film,” he said, seeing it as a “tribute” to the work of Chadwick Boseman. The film will again be directed by Ryan Coogler and is slated for theatrical release in July 2022.
