The Kardashian clan and its reality TV stars are committed to the Disney group, and will launch, in 2021, a new program on the Hulu and Star platforms, subsidiaries of the entertainment group, which announced the news Thursday.
Disney has said little about this new project, presented as a “multi-year partnership” by the matriarch of the Kardashian clan, Kris Jenner, on her Twitter account.
Content created by the Kardashians will be shown in the United States on the Hulu platform and abroad on Star, Disney’s new subscription video service, which launches in February.
It is a promising strategic shift for the Kardashians, who are leaving cable television, declining in the United States, for streaming, the medium of the moment.
The famous program “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, which made them famous, was thus far broadcast on the cable channel E !, of the group NBCUniversal.
In September, the family announced that the program would end in early 2021, at the end of its twentieth season, almost 14 years after its debut. She had not provided any explanation for this decision.
A minor celebrity at the time of the launch of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian has become a global star thanks to this program, on which she built an empire with the help of her mother.
The reality show follows the Kardashians in their daily lives, peppered with family mini-dramas, including falling out between the Kardashian sisters.
