Family doctors from Sibiu County receive the last tranche of influenza vaccine from the group of 46,469 doses allocated this year by the Ministry of Health for free vaccination of the population for the 2020-2021 season, informs the Sibiu Public Health Directorate.
“The last 7,350 doses of immunizing serum arrived at the DSP Sibiu headquarters on Wednesday, 09.12.2020, being started the distribution of the vaccine to the family doctors’ offices to continue the immunization of people at high risk of disease. (…) Our county was allocated 46,469 doses of influenza vaccine, in eight tranches, representing over 98% of the total number of persons registered in our county – 47,259 ”, it is mentioned in the DSP communiqué.
The vaccine will be distributed to family doctors for priority immunization of people over the age of 65 with chronic diseases, especially respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, metabolic diseases, institutionalized children and the elderly, medical staff, and pregnant women, according to WHO recommendations. ECDC.
According to DSP, “so far, only one case of influenza has been confirmed with the laboratory at national level, and no confirmed deaths with influenza virus have been registered.”
