On Tuesday, behind closed doors, the Moselle Assize Court sentenced Vincent Michel, prosecuted for rape of a fifteen-year-old minor, to 14 years of criminal imprisonment, 7 of which were accompanied by socio-judicial monitoring and a definitive ban from practicing on a professional or voluntary basis an activity in contact with minors. Perpetrated on two minors, at different times in the Nancy sector, the facts took place while the man was looking after the children. The accused was sentenced to 20 years of criminal imprisonment, at first instance, by the Assize Court of Meurthe-et-Moselle. Vincent Michel had appealed the decision, denying the facts with regard to one of the two victims. In the meantime, one of the minors died in a road accident, his parents filed a civil suit on appeal.
