Torrejón de Ardoz installs a pergola at the Plaza de España taxi rank
The mayor of Torrejón de Ardoz, Ignacio Vázquez, presented this morning the new pergola for 12 taxis that the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has installed in the city’s Plaza de España.
Along with the councilor were María Isabel Redondo, councilor for Heritage and Mobility, Rafael Sánchez and Pedro Torregrosa, president and secretary, respectively, of the Torrejón Radio-Taxi Group.
It is a large canopy with a metallic structure and stretched covering canvases and with lighting under a led type canvas. The works have recently finished and the new pergola is already operational in the area of the old transport interchange of the city.
This is how the mayor explained the new investment:
“With this investment we seek to improve the taxi service in one of the most used areas of the city as it is a communications hub in Torrejón due to its proximity to the train station and numerous urban and interurban bus stops.”
Vázquez has indicated that the infrastructure was necessary:
“With this new infrastructure, both users and taxi drivers themselves will be able to protect themselves from inclement weather, such as rain in winter or sun in summer.”
