The government is receiving sharp criticism for the new measures. They do not correspond to the PES system

From Wednesday, restaurants, bars and pubs must close at 8 p.m. A tougher rule is described by many restaurateurs as liquidation.

“We have now taken back our employees so that we can reopen and have the operation by 10 pm and yesterday I was fired again. So I feel that I am making a lot of fun of those people,” Marek Marek Cieslar.

The hotel and restaurant association criticizes the government for making further restrictions without providing statistics on how many establishments have committed a misdemeanor.

“Right now, it doesn’t make sense to close them, because the data that restaurants are the place where the disease is spreading is simply not. Restaurants are not responsible for the increased numbers. Confusion continues, uncertainty continues,” commented STAN Deputy Prime Minister Jan Farsky.

The government disagrees and claims that neighboring states have hospitality facilities completely closed. “Restaurants are generally a more demanding place. There are higher social contacts than, for example, in a shop,” says Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček (for YES).

The new tightening of the rules that the government came up with on Monday does not correspond to any of the levels in the PES system. “We were all supposed to follow PSEM, then” puppies “appeared, finally cat-puppies and no one knows about it again,” criticizes ODS chairman Petr Fiala.

“I’m afraid not the government either. The measures should be clear and predictable. And unfortunately, that’s not a coincidence,” he added. And the co-authors of the system, according to which the Czechia is returning to growth, do not spare criticism either.

“What we heard on Monday probably can’t be considered a reasonable way to comment on the situation. The government has adopted this system itself, developed it, so I expect it to comment further,” said René Levinský, a mathematician and co-creator of the PES system.

“These attacks on so-called restaurant violations are, in my opinion, just an attempt to divert attention from what the government has promised. I expect the government to meet at the end of the week and something will happen,” he added.

“By no means is this a punishment. We want to leave the system unchanged until the end of the year, if possible. That time is enough to evaluate it. Now we have to prepare it to incorporate the growing numbers of antigen tests,” he explained. Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for YES).
