A big bang, reported as an “explosion,” was heard across central New York and Canada on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. The sound of the explosion was likely caused by a meteor. Bekka Gunner of Unamed Adventure Dogs in Holland, NY, accidentally videotaped the Meteor in Erie County while she was sledding her dogs.
More than 200 reports to the American Meteor Society
A bang that was heard in the center of New York in the afternoon is attributed by experts to a large daytime meteor that was reported by some in western New York. Shortly afterwards, on some recordings, you can see a ball of fire racing through the sky.
You can watch Bekka’s video on Facebook here:
Here is another video on YouTube by hearing the loud bang:
Residents from Clinton in the Oneida to Camillus district called 911 Wednesday afternoon to report an explosion. Several police authorities and fire departments investigated the cause of the bang.
And here you can see a recording about Canada:
It’s crazy how a fireball looks like in a shot, isn’t it?

Fortunately, nobody was injured and you now know where the loud bang came from. But how amazing is it to be able to videotape such a rare event?
