The Ser y Estar theater workshop, in charge of the director and actress Patricia Garca, will be presented next week with a virtual staging. From different cities, more than a dozen interpreters will connect thanks to technology and present the play La Mentira.
We were caught by the pandemic at the beginning of the seventh version (of the workshop) and there were a lot of students. I decided immediately to go virtual and explore what could be done, Garcia explained. (The workshop) has had to reinvent itself.
Unlike past presentations, in which the cast was divided into short stories, the current script was made especially for the occasion by Jorge Alaniz from Cochabamba, so it is a single comedy for the 16 performers.
There are of all ages, there is really a lot of freshness because they are people with very little experience on the scene, mostly, the director explained. We are exploiting the resource that exists now, because when we return to the presence, well, we will return to the theater as we know it. Now we are really using the resources that exist, to be creative and do something new. It is a reflection on the actor and on the theater itself, but very light and very fresh, he added.
The play will be broadcast on December 13, at 7:00 p.m., through Superticket. The cost of the tickets is 35 bolivianos and can be purchased on the same platform.
