Just like with game consoles, video cards have become very difficult to obtain this year. Of course, the fact that several hundred cards disappear before they are even put up for sale does not help the situation either, and that was exactly what happened in China on Monday.
A batch of video cards of the type Nvidia RTX 3090 disappeared completely without a trace from the factory of card manufacturer MSI. In total, the thieves got away with 40 boxes of cards, with a total value of almost three million kroner.
Like the site Tom’s Hardware says MSI has surveillance cameras at the factory and thorough inspections of trucks going in and out. Admittedly, these measures did not catch the theft, and the company therefore believes that it was an employee at the factory who was behind it.

MSI has promised a bounty of 133,000 kroner to those who can provide information that leads to a clarification of the case. The company also promises to show mercy if one or more of the perpetrators sign up and help get the cards back.
We took a look at the RTX 3090 earlier this year and left impress by what the card delivers. As hardware manager Mikkjell Lønning commented, the price is admittedly a bit too high for many, with little value for money compared to little brother RTX 3080.
