Some 340 people have contracted a mysterious disease in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, local media reported on Monday. Patients present with various symptoms such as nausea, headache and seizures.

Around 340 people have fallen ill in recent days in the town of Eluru, in southeast India. Half of them were hospitalized and a 45-year-old man died from the unidentified illness.
Experts have not yet determined the origin of the epidemic. Blood tests showed there was no viral infection. And all the patients have tested negative for Covid-19.
Water pollution is however questioned by some, who point to the negligence of the authorities in this area.
