‘Priority for care volunteers during vaccination’ | Inland

Party leader Liane den Haan: “Care and welfare organizations cannot do without the help of volunteers. Because in some organizations more than half of the volunteers temporarily do not dare to come, care is under pressure. From 50PLUS, we are therefore making an appeal to politicians regarding the vaccination program. ”

According to Den Haan, daytime activities are of crucial importance for people with dementia and their carers. Without this shelter and guidance they often cannot continue to live at home. Caregivers become exhausted and can no longer cope, and then someone has to move to a nursing home.

Liane den Haan: “Daytime activities not only provide a good day’s activity for people with dementia. It is much more. People who otherwise mainly sit on the chair at home have social contacts in this way, are on the move and receive a warm meal a few times a week. So let us all do what we can and ensure that this beautiful form of support remains intact. And let us vaccinate volunteers in care and welfare as soon as possible, so that they can continue to do their work safely. ”
