The two practitioners were placed in police custody at the end of November and a search was carried out in their office, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Chartres, Rémi Coutin, confirming information from L’Écho Républicain.
A judicial investigation was opened and the suspects were presented to a judge. Indicted on November 27, they were placed under judicial supervision with a ban on continuing their activity. “The first investigation began in June 2020, following a report from the Council of the Order of Physicians of Eure-et-Loir», Indicate Coutin. «The institution was seized in early 2019 by a young woman who had recounted having consulted one of the two gynecologists, in December 2018, for problems of sexual relations with her companion». «She had been received by the doctor in the presence of her companion on two occasions. The practitioner had explained to them that the young woman was not deflowered“, And the practitioner had undertaken to do so”under shocking and brutal conditions that do not correspond to the practice of a gynecologist», According to the prosecutor of Chartres.
The second investigation started in September, after a complaint from a woman who had just seen the second gynecologist. After a meeting on September 5, she came out three hours later “crying, upset and drunk”Says Coutin. The young woman had been picked up by customers of a business who had called the police, and had been hospitalized. She says the gynecologist, “had had him installed not in the office, but in an upstairs room and had offered him coffee and then an alcoholic drink“And that”would have tried to kiss her»Says Coutin.
During the investigation, witnesses and patients reported other strange behaviors of practitioners, according to the public prosecutor. “Some have denounced facts which could be qualified as sexual assault, but which are prescribed. The aim of the judicial information will also be to search for possible other victims of one or the other of the doctors.”, Emphasizes Coutin. The two doctors face 20 years in prison.
