“Once again missed a chance”

Subject: “Sustainability project fails in the council”, NWZ from December 4th

“In a world that is shaped by climate change, which is scientifically demonstrably promoted by unsustainable human action, the Vareler Council decides against sustainable projects. This result makes me sad and angry at the same time.

All over the world, efforts are under way to follow the concept of education for sustainable development in order to leave future generations a world in which people can enjoy the diversity of species, perceive nature as a fascination of creation and lead a life worth living.

We educational researchers have been developing and researching materials for all possible areas of education for decades in order to promote responsible and reflective action by young people and citizens. We invest a lot of work and perseverance with our ambitious goals and need time to be where we have just arrived: Young people are highly motivated to go to Friday for Future demonstrations to loudly announce their concern to preserve the beauty and uniqueness of this world to do. They want to be involved in public discussions about the preservation of their world and we enable participation.
