Through the Ice Universe account, a well-known leaker within the industry, we have found out that the South Korean manufacturer could take a giant step in the race for mobile camera resolutions. At the moment, the higher-end S20 and Note20 have hit up to 108MP on their ISOCELL sensor. The firm would now be seeing how they could incorporate a sensor of such resolution in a mobile device. And the biggest task would be how to have a camera with such a sensor without taking up a large space in the terminal.

The firm hopes that with a higher resolution, the loss of quality is less noticeable when zooming in 4K and 8K resolutions. This sensor would have 0.8µm pixel size. It seems that by incorporating a sensor of such caliber given the current conditions, it would occupy 12% of the total of the rear of the device. At the moment there are still no details on when such a resolution will reach mobile devices. Everything indicates that we will have to wait a long time to see them work.
