Tough police operation: escaped kangaroo resists | Regional

Mönchengladbach – Without a fight the escaped kangaroo did not want to give up its freedom …

The animal was piled out of a farm in the Viersen district at the end of November. On Sunday morning it was spotted near a former military site, the Mönchengladbach police said.

The emergency services surrounded the 80 centimeter tall and 18 kilogram heavy Bennett kangaroo and notified the owner. When he packed it and put it in the transport box, the animal “put up a not inconsiderable resistance”. But nobody was injured during this access.

Then it went back to familiar surroundings. The police: “This kangaroo belongs to the genus of wallabies and lives in a group of other wallabies in the Viersen district.”
