If you want to visit your family in Schleswig-Holstein at Christmas, you can stay in the hotel for up to two days. The hoteliers in the country are not convinced.
The reason: According to the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga), the hotels cannot yet plan – because there is no corresponding state regulation that regulates this exception to the Corona-related ban on accommodation. The uncertainty in the hotel business is great, says the managing director of Dehoga Schleswig-Holstein, Stefan Scholtis. Nobody knows which criteria have to be met so that the maximum of two nights can be offered between December 23rd and 27th.

Scholtis: Hoteliers are probably not very interested
Scholtis assumes that the new regulation will only be published before the 23rd – because the current regulation with the ban on accommodation will expire on December 20th. But Scholtis also believes that only a few hotels are interested in opening their houses to a few guests for four days. In most cases it just might not be worth it.
“Above all, large houses that are currently not accommodating business travelers need an extremely large number of guests so that the opening is economically worthwhile. And therefore the large houses will think twice. We suspect that it is the smaller houses that will open earlier.” said Scholtis.
