Willty said that since the beginning, Volta wanted to get involved in electric motorbikes. But at that time the regulations were still complicated, so the consideration was to target electric bikes first.

“Actually, at the beginning of our establishment, we were targeting an electric motorbike. We wanted to make an electric motorbike, only at that time we saw it from the licensing side and all kinds were not too clear. So we started with electric bikes, because this does not need a frame number and STNK, so we start there. , “he said.

The turning point for Volta to jump into the electric motorbike was when the Indonesian President Jokowi signed the Presidential Decree No. 55/2019 concerning the Acceleration of the Battery Electric Vehicle Program for Road Transportation, which was promulgated on August 12, 2019.

After that, Volta, said Willty, started developing an electric motor. One of them is Vault 401 which was exhibited at IIMS Motobike Hybrid Show 2020, at Motovillage, Jakarta.

“After Pak Jokowi issued a Presidential Decree, then we also submitted to the Ministry of Industry to submit a Vehicle Identification Number (NIK), we will get the frame number easily in December 2019,” he said.

“In early 2020, we began to apply for a Type Test Certificate (SUT) for two wheels. We got the SUT in the first semester, we also got the determination of the Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB), so that our two-wheelers that we are exhibiting here are type 401. have a STNK, “he said.

Willty said that currently the Volta 401 is in the final stage of production. Electric scooter will go on sale next year no later than February 2021.

“Now the STNK stage has been able to come out and prepare for mass production. So I think between January or February in 2021 we are ready commercially,” said Willty.

Active Socialization

Before officially issuing an electric motorbike product, Willty said Volta was diligent in promoting the existence of the brand by supporting programs made by the provincial government.

“We also carry out a lot of activities with the local government, starting from the Semarang National Quality Month (BNS) in 2019, and we also participated in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s event in Jakarta Blue Sky, so we held many socialization events,” he said.
