After a phone call between EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, both sides announced on Saturday evening that they wanted to continue talks on a trade agreement despite major differences. Without an agreement, at the end of the Brexit transition phase at the end of the year there is a threat of a hard economic break with tariffs and other trade hurdles.
