Real Madrid won the hard work of the away match Sevilla with a score of 1-0. El Real’s goal scorer was Yassine Bounou’s suicide.
In the Spanish League 2020/2021 match week 11 at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Saturday (5/12/2020), Madrid won the only goal in the second half, maximizing Bounou’s mistake.
The first win of the last four games made it Real Madrid move up to third in the standings with 20 points, ahead of Villarreal on goal difference. Sevilla are in fifth position with 16 points.
The course of the match
Just a minute from the game, Madrid came close to scoring when Lucas Vazquez’s quick attack from the right was ended with a bait. In the penalty box there is Vinicius Junior who tries to cheat, but still goes wide,
Entering the 21st minute, it was Toni Kroos’ turn to create opportunities. Getting a shooting space in front of the penalty box, Kroos shot the ball into the top right corner even though he had not met the target.
Madrid had another chance to score in the 38th minute when Karim Benzema got the ball through and finished with a curling shot, which Yassine Bounou was able to push away.
Until halftime, the score 0-0 remained. Entering the second half, Sevilla tried to sharpen the attack line by including Oliver Torres to replace Munir.
Sevilla’s first chance on target was obtained by Luuk De Jong in the 52nd minute through his acrobatic strike, although the ball was still right in the catch of Thibaut Courtois.
Madrid finally broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Vinicius got his name on the scoreboard. Ferland Mendy gave Benzema a short pass, who returned it to his compatriot.
Mendy sent a tug of war which was met by the tip of Vinicius’ shoe and the ball was actually not fast, but Bounou misjudged it to get into the net.
Behind Sevilla did not remain silent because they wanted to catch Madrid. Suso, Youssef En-Nesyri, and Nemanja Gudelj were included. Sevilla were sharper in front of goal, but they still couldn’t score a goal.
Sevilla threatened with Gudelj’s free kick in the 75th minute but it was still wide, as was Suso who passed Kroos and Nacho, before firing on the side of the net.
Sevilla really put pressure on Madrid in the last 15 minutes of the match. Even so, the visitors still maintained a 1-0 win at the end of the match Sevilla vs Real Madrid this.
